Kinokuniya New York

The Kinokuniya bookstore across from Bryant Park in midtown Manhattan — the flagship of Kinokuniya's American stores, opened at Rockefeller Center in 1981 and moved here in 2007. The main floor is given over to English-language books: literature, art, children's titles, business. The second holds manga in English and Japanese, graphic novels, anime goods and a café. Stationery lives in the basement, with Japanese-made pens and paper. Signing events with writers and artists come round periodically. Open 10:00–20:00 Monday to Saturday, 11:00–19:30 on Sunday.
