On the third floor of a building on Rua Barão de Paranapiacaba in central São Paulo, a writing shop whose name means "the pen doctor" — repair is on the sign. The stock runs through Parker, Montblanc, Sheaffer, Lamy, Cross, Pelikan, Waterman, Pilot, Diplomat, Caran d'Ache and Pierre Cardin, weighted towards pens at everyday prices: the Sheaffer 100 and 300, the Prelude, special editions of the Lamy AL-star. Cards are accepted and orders shipped. It suits someone with a pen that has stopped writing as much as someone buying a new one.
