Pen Boutique 書斎館 Aoyama

A fountain pen shop in Aoyama whose own writing is not about products but about the occasion for using one. Something you would normally send by email, written out by hand instead; the face and the voice of the person in mind while the nib moves across paper bought specially; the pause over a character you cannot quite remember, knowing that ink cannot be undone; coffee while it dries. It will also start from the beginning — Waterman losing a contract to a leaking pen in 1883 and building a workable one on capillary action — and it makes the case for choosing ink by the season, or by who the letter is for.
