About this company
Pelikan began in 1838 in Hanover, Germany. It grew out of the ink and paint factory of the chemist Carl Hornemann; Günther Wagner, who took it over in 1871, registered the pelican from his family crest as a trademark in 1878, and that became the company's name.
It is known for the green-striped barrel and the piston filler. It was also among the first to give a pen a window showing how much ink is left.
