Kinokuniya Seattle

The Kinokuniya bookstore in Seattle's International District, which moved here when Uwajimaya Village opened in 2000. The Mariners and Seahawks stadiums are within walking distance, so game days fill the shop. Alongside Japanese books and magazines and English titles, it is the only Kinokuniya in the United States carrying Chinese books and magazines. It is also an official Studio Ghibli retail partner — a giant Totoro greets you at the door. Japanese-made stationery is a draw, and the second floor holds English comics, figures and art books. Local artists sell their work at events here.
