Founded in Shinjuku in 1940 selling frames and paintings, and now a long-established art-materials chain across the Kanto and Tokai regions. The range is on another scale: paints, pastels, pigments, canvas and papers; clay and sculpting materials; styrene board and model supplies; drafting machines and parallel rules; screen tone, nibs and manuscript paper for manga; lettering and calligraphy supplies; and stationery, diaries and pens, all in the same building. It frames and mounts pictures, and will make a custom stamp or a family crest. It runs an art school and sketching trips and co-hosts an international open competition. Where people who draw come to kit themselves out.
