丸善 仙台アエル店

A Maruzen store on the ground floor of AER, in front of JR Sendai station. It is among the largest bookshops in the Tōhoku region, holding half a million volumes, with strong foreign-language and specialist sections, medicine in particular. Books lead, but in the Maruzen manner there is a writing counter alongside, carrying Pilot, Sailor and Platinum fountain pens. An attached gallery hosts fairs and signings. Open until 21:00 except Sundays and holidays, so it can be caught on the way home from work — handy for choosing a pen while choosing a book.
