Wonder Pens

Opened in Toronto in 2013 by Jon and Liz Chan. It started with the first fountain pen Jon gave Liz, which woke a dormant interest in stationery and turned into an endless hunt for the best and hardest-to-find things from Japan and elsewhere, until Liz's closets and cupboards overflowed and Jon concluded there was nothing for it but to open a shop. The first was a tiny place at 906 Dundas West in Little Portugal, packed to the rafters with boxes, stock and favourite customers. It has grown alongside a returning interest in analogue tools, in slowing down to write by hand, and in the half-lost arts of calligraphy and letters.
